NotD | Butter London in Giddy Kipper
I've been lusting after Butter London nail polishes for a couple of years. The brand looks so luxe and special. A couple of months ago I went into my local health food shop to buy something for Mother's Day and I stumbled across a shelf full of Button London nail polishes!! I was drooling over the shades. At around $16 each, I wasn't going to splash out crazily over them but I decided to buy one.
The shade I bought is called Giddy Kipper. From the Butter London website, they describe this shade as an opaque, indigo shimmer. I love the packaging of their polishes, so clean and elegant. The formula is really nice to work with and it applies opaque in two light coats. To use it, you need to remove the black cap to reveal a ridged handle with a cute white bird on the top. A couple of downsides is that the tiny tiny shimmer barely shows up on the nails and the brush could have been better for such an expensive polish.
Butter London is an UK brand that is 'dedicated to bringing you high fashion colour without compromise'. Their nail polishes do not include nasties such as formaldehyde, toluene, DBP (dibutyl phthalate), phthlates and parabens. They don't smell strongly of that nail polish scent either which is good on the nose.
I'm happy that I am able to buy Butter London polishes locally but I won't be rushing out anytime soon as I'm not completely wow-ed with my selection. I would rather buy from the Essie range. If they are cheaper in the UK, I might get a couple when I go there next month.
Have you tried any Butter London polishes? Would you like to?
xxx Kat
I love the blue! But I don't think I would pay $16 for it, as much as I love rectangular bottles...
