A Day By The Water || Manly

Yesterday, I went on a trip Manly for lunch with some lovely ladies from work. It was rainy and grey at home so I was hoping the weather was much better in the city. The clouds stayed but the rain did hold off!

I caught the train to Circular Quay (using an Opal Card) and then caught a Sydney Ferry to Manly. The Opal Card works for the trip on the ferry otherwise a separate ticket needs to be purchased. The ferry ride took about half an hour. We had a short walk to lunch destination called the Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club. We had a table reserved under cover outside right on the water side. It was a beautiful sight! I ordered the beef burger with chips and a lemonade. The seafood dishes were popular with the table and the dishes were reasonably priced (around $25). We decided to move on elsewhere for some coffee and cake after lunch. It was my first time dining at Criniti's. I always hear the name on morning radio and wondered what it was like there. Criniti's is a gourmet Italian restaurant and they do a mean gelato and desserts. I had a green tea and hazelnut gelato. Sorry I forgot to photograph! We took the ferry back to Circular Quay and seeing it was late afternoon, we had some drinks at the Opera Bar, right next to the iconic Sydney Opera House. I went with one of their signature cocktails called Blood Diamond Daiquiri. It was very citrusy and tart due to the blood orange liqueur, pomegranate, lime and orange. We headed back to the train to beat the peak hour commute home. I think I went to bed after 9 last night haha. It was a wonderful day spent with some great ladies. I can't wait for our next adventure!
I thought I should share my makeup of the day too =) I've been trying some samples I got from Mecca Cosmetica of Nars Sheer Glow foundation and Hourglass Mineral Veil primer. I have been so surprised at the finish of the foundation after applying it with my fingertips. It's amazing! Last year, I tried it using a brush and I dismissed it as it went patchy and uneven on my skin. I'm so glad I went back to the store and asked more questions. I use the Hourglass primer in my T-zone to see if the waterproof claims were true. My nose was still shiny at the end of the day but less oily feeling which was nice. I think I used a combination of eyeshadows from the Naked 2 palette and a gold L'Oreal Infalliable eyeshadow. And I whipped out my newly purchased Maybelline jumbo lip pencil in Berry Much. I applied it lightly here as I was going to have breakfast at Mcdonald's and I knew it would go everywhere when I ate haha.

Have you been to Manly or a day out in your city?

  1. The lip colour looks great on you!

I've been to Criniti's but only for their pizza.

I live close-ish to Manly and one of my favourite things to do is catch the ferry from Circular Quay, especially when it is good weather. Definitely not like what it is right now !
