Berry Vampy Lips
I carefully avoided Priceline's infamous 40% cosmetics sale a little while ago. But I really wanted to test out the new Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet lip pencils. I tried Priceline the weekend after the sale finished but they weren't restocked yet so I ventured over to Target and had a much better outcome.
This year, I've been quite good restrained with my makeup purchases which I am happy about *high five* This lipstick product is in a non-twist pencil format. There are 10 shades in the range and I believe they are really wearable from lighter pinks to brighter reds and plums. I decided to buy the shade Berry Much as I wanted to have more plum options in my collection (I just had one at the time).
Berry Much is a deep red-purple shade. I couldn't believe how creamy the formula was, I almost put too much on in the first sweep of colour. The pointed tip helped outlining the lips but it will need sharpening to maintain the shape. The finish is initially a satin finish (slight shine) and becomes less shiny as it is worn. This shade provides a lovely deep stain when the product wears off (naturally or fast tracked through eating and drinking). I also didn't get that liner ring look on the lips after I ate but I had to be mindful how I ate as the product would go everywhere otherwise. This colour looks nice worn both at full opacity and as a stain. I didn't experience a lot of feathering outside my lips but I have a feeling that with such a creamy formula, it can happen.
Color Drama Intense Velvet lip pencils are currently on sale at Priceline and Target for $6.96 (30% off) but at their original prices of $9.95, they are still very affordable.
Have you tried any lipsticks in pencil format?

I'm glad you're liking this, Berry Much is such a stunning shade! I was surprised at how creamy they are too, I'm just so impressed with the formula though!

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen these launch quite yet in my neighborhood, but I'm eagerly waiting for them to arrive because I love a good chubby lip pencil. Love the color, it definitely looks good especially with your hair.
