Designer Brands Pro Contour | Review

Sculpting the face is a technique that has been around for quite some time however, contouring and highlighting has spiked in popularity in recent years. So many brands have brought out their own version of contouring and highlighting products. Designer Brands has jumped on board this trending technique with their own kit.

Designer Brands is an Australian cosmetic brand focusing on quality products at affordable prices Designer Brands is vegan, does not test on animals and is available in pharmacies. I have only tried a lipstick and blush from the brand before purchasing the Pro Contour Kit so I didn't really know what to expect from the product. The Pro Contour Kit is described as a product catering "for every skin tone to help you sculpt like a pro".
The back of the packaging shows in depth directions on the use of the shades.
The Pro Contour Kit comes with six adequately sized shades in a thick cardboard case with a magnetic closure and large mirror. There are three highlighting shades in tones of light pink, yellow and peach. Be mindful that these are not your typical cheekbone glowy highlighter. They more light a setting powder used on the areas that you want lighter like under the eyes and forehead as well as to clean up cheek contouring. There are three contouring shades in a light cool brown, a warmer brown and a slightly deeper cooler brown.

I found these powders very soft and kick up some excess when the brush is placed on them so have a light hand when you first use them! They blend very well on the skin due to the soft texture of the powders. I was able to use both the light and deeper contouring shades on my light-mediumish skin tone and the middle brown shade was nice to warm up the face. I couldn't really distinguish the individual highlight shades on my skin but I did find I gravitated towards a mix of the yellow and peach shades. They did well with setting concealers but I wouldn't use them to set my whole face as they don't have much of a mattifying quality.
Base only | Cheek, nose and temple contour | Complete makeup

Overall, I really like the Pro Contour Kit, the shades suit me quite well and they are easy to apply. I don't have any other contour kits from other brands like the Kat Von D and Anastasia BH ones so I'm very happy with this affordable version from Designer Brands.

You can find the Pro Contour Kit for $17.99 and other products from Designer Brands on their website or find a stockist near you.
