FotD | Spring Shopping

Hello lovelies! You would think that me being on school holidays that I would blog more. I thought that too but there's always other things that get in the way. For example, yesterday I planned to do this post but my face had a reaction to either the sunscreen or BB cream (both I've used before) and that ruined all my plans! So today I made myself get out of the house to do some shopping for our 'reception' and also something for dinner. Here's the simple look I created!

Ah.. always a relief to take a nice photo and don't have to touch it up hahaha. You should have seen my face and neck after the reaction, red and bumpy in places and itchy! Eck!

Obviously I decided to stay clear of products I used yesterday to hopefully prevent any more itchy and blotchy skin. I started with Maybelline Instant Age Rewind primer which is an oldie and full-of-silicone goodie and mixed two shades of Napoleon Perdis Advanced Mineral Makeup to get a nice match. Then I did some concealing on some pimple bumps with Napoleon Perdis Pro Palette concealer. I really enjoy this concealer as I can custom match the shades to suit my skin tone (and others) to hide imperfections and conceal under the eyes. I also brightened the under eye area with another Napoleon Perdis product, the Mighty Concealer Pen. Then I went on to do my eye makeup to let the foundation set before applying a light layer of Maybelline Dream Matte Powder all over my face and finished the cheeks with Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Glisten

Simple simple eyes now! I primed and evened out my eyelids with bareMinerals 5 in 1 cream eyeshadow and went with my trusty combo of the Naked palette of Toasted, Darkhorse and Virgin. I did some upper eyeliner with Revlon ColorStay eyeliner which is so old that the crayon is so hard to use! After I curled my lashes and applied the newly opened Maybelline The Falsies Black Drama mascara I noticed that half my eyeliner rubbed off and I had to reapply, this time with Milani LiquifEye eyeliner and set it with some dark eyeshadow. This eyeliner smudges on me!

Finally, I added a cute and yummy colour to my lips with YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in 6 and a spritz of Mary Kay Makeup Finishing Spray (love this stuff!) to make my face look fresh. And I added a sweet candy scent to the body with SJP NYC before heading out the door!

Hmmm seems like a lot of steps for a simple look. I hope you like it!

Glasses...

No glasses!
