A More Sophisticated and Ethereal Version
Well, those were the words chosen by Marc Jacobs to describe his latest fragrance from the Daisy line. I first encountered Daisy Dream when I was in London with Miss Bec in July last year when a lovely sales assistant handed me one of those smelly cards and sprayed some on me. I do like the original Daisy but not enough to obtain a bottle for myself. But this.... this was right up my alley! Now to the funny story on how this bottle came into my hands.
It was Valentine's Day (this year). My hubby went out in search for the perfect gift for me. Isn't he sweet? Out shopping with another man, an Englishman to be exact, he ventured into a store he doesn't frequent often. Myer. Overwhelmed by the number of perfumes on display, he tried to find something with the word 'Daisy' in it. Luckily with the help of a sales assistant, he found the blue gem. And she wrapped it too! Winning!
With a little Myer bag in hand, my hubby and his friend went out for lunch together. On Valentine's Day. Without me. Of course I decided to work that day haha. A funny sight that I wish I was there to witness! So after I came home from work, my hubby surprised me with a cutely wrapped box. I was excited when I opened it =D I'm glad he's been paying attention! Brownie points there! By the way, the card I bought for him to give to me =P
Now on to the perfume! Daisy Dream is an Eau de Toilette fragrance so it's not as potent as a parfum. The bottle is gorgeous and girly. It is covered with the white daisy signature around the top of the clear bottle and around the silver cap. Daisy Dream is described to have a fruity floral fragrance which is totally what I'm into. Like many of us, I have trouble distinguishing the particular scents in perfumes. Luckily, I found the list of scents on the Marc Jacobs website:
The top notes: blackberry, grapefruit and pear
Mid notes: jasmine, lychee and blue wisteria
Base notes: white woods, musks and coconut water.
This is a lovely addition to my small perfume collection and it has been much loved since I received it. Thanks to my hubby for the present!!!
Have you acquired a new perfume lately?

What a winner! You're certainly onto a good man there. I love that perfume!

What a sweet gift! :)
ReplyDeleteOoohh when I went to London, I smelt all the Jo Malone fragrances and it was so hard to chose a scent so I didn't end up getting one =(
ReplyDeleteThey did a great job with the packaging eh? Very cute!
ReplyDeleteSweet and sweet smelling =)
ReplyDeleteI love the packaging of this perfume but Daisy didn't go well with my body chemistry, same thing with my Chanel Chance. I had to give these perfumes away. :( I don't think my chemistry go well with citrus fruity smell. This definitely smells fresh on others though. :)
ReplyDeleteAwww I love citrus scents! I totally get what you mean when the scent changes with the body. I use to sell perfumes and it smells different on everyone!
