L'Oreal Infallible Matte FX Lip Colour
I love how popular the matte lip trend has been and it doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon! Liquid lipsticks have been on the radar quite frequently (thanks to JS and Kylie Jenner) and I do enjoy some of them but sometimes I don't like that complete, solid matte look on the lips. Here comes a product that delivers a matte lip colour but keeping the lip texture soft and natural.
I picked up the L'Oreal Infallible Matte FX Lip Colour in Oops I Pink It Again a few months ago when I went into Priceline wanting to pick up another lip product. The lady that was working in the cosmetic area suggested this product to me, which was new to me at the time, and I was quite intrigued by the applicator and the pigment formula The shade she picked out sold it for me though and I bought it to try!
The Infallible Matte FX Lip Colour is said to be a lip shadow with a pro-designer cushion application to deliver an infinite long lasting velvety, matte look with zero feel and that is never dry.
A lip shadow!?! As you can see from the photo above, that the product is quite reminiscent of those loose shadows pressed in a little pot with the sponge stuck in it. This is the first of this type of product I've seen for lips though. The powdered pigment is pressed into the 'lid' and is picked up by the sponge as it screws into it. The sponge is an interesting shape as well, being a pointed dome. It took a couple of goes to get use to the applicator and to try to keep the colour inside my lip line.
One swipe swatch (ignore the foundation puddle)
I am going to straight out say that I love this shade! Oops I Pink It Again is a mid-dark pink. I love the matte finish this product gives and it is so lightweight! Unfortunately, I found the wear time to be over a 3-4 hours, and most of the colour was removed from my top lip during eating but the bottom lip stayed put. Layering the product is super easy and doesn't affect the appearance on the lips. I also like to change up the intensity of the colour by either going lightly over the lips for that blushed look to adding a few layers for a brighter look.
There's six shades in the range with quite wearable colours and they retail for $23.95 (you can find them sale most of the time) at stores stocking L'Oreal such as Priceline, Target and Big W.
