The Honeymoon Series | Orkney Islands

Hi there lovelies! It's about time I share with you some of our post wedding holiday photos. About time right??? =P The day after we got married, we had a lovely couple who gave us private tour around a few islands of Orkney before we has to set sail to Aberdeen that night. Hope you enjoy the post!

The tour gave us such a rich history of the Orkney Islands in a snapshot. I would love to come back here and spend a week exploring them all! The Standing Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar are said to be built before Stonehenge and that the movement of people came from the north instead of spreading up from the south of the UK. We visited some neolithic villages that were built 5000 years ago! We also walked along the cliffs of Yesnaby and our tour guide was so excited to find a couple of Scottish primroses amongst the field of grass. These are the size of a fingernail so you could imagine how special it felt to find them as they only flower twice a year and for a couple weeks in a few locations in north Scotland!
