Hit Refresh, Girlfriend

So I haven't completely jumped on the subscription box bandwagon but I decided to purchase a single box from Marie Claire called The Parcel by Girlfriend after being very happy with the original The Parcel last year. Keep on reading to see what's inside!

This edit is called Hit Refresh and it contains products that will help you look achieve a fresh look. The website said that deliveries for The Parcel will start on the 9th March and man, what a service, I received it on that day! The box came wrapped in plastic with a colourful cardboard cover over a sleek black box. The contents were safely tucked inside and some items came with bubble wrap.

Veet Hair Removal Cream for Sensitive Skin (full size)
I'm not much of a user of hair removal cream for the body so I'm not sure if I will try it but you will never know! This product is meant to remove unwanted body hair without causing irritations and redness. It contains vitamin E and aloe vera to help sooth the skin.

Biore Warming Anti-Blackhead Cream Cleanser (looks full size)
Gotta love cleansers! I love the feeling of a warming face cleanser so I can't wait to try it out after I finish my current cleanser. I don't experience many blackheads so I'll see if my skin improves anyway.

Dermalogica Clear Start Breakout Clearing Daytime and Overnight Treatments (sample)
I'm so excited that Dermalogica products were included as I like their products but don't like paying the price. The ingredients in this duo are gentle enough for them to be used daily to help fight breakouts.

Rimmel London BB Cream in Medium (sample)
I'm hoping this won't be too orange for me like the Garnier ones. I don't wear BB creams that often but I am looking forward to giving this a go. This product claims to mattify and brighten the skin as well as giving some sun protection.

L'Oreal Paris Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara in Purple (full size)
I've heard some good things about this mascara. The brush is quite different to the regular type wands and not something I've seen before. This isn't a waterproof formula so I don't have high hopes for it holding a curl. I'm not sure when I'll try this as I don't wear mascara that often nowadays and also, it's PURPLE! Apparently this mascara gives volume to the lashes with a flexy brush to help with lifting and curling.

Maybelline New York Color Show Bleached Neons nail polish in Coral Heat and Sun Flare
I'm so glad I didn't buy these earlier! I have a good range of the Color Show polishes and I'm very happy that these were included.

There was a non-beauty item included in the box. A Hoyts 2-4-1 offer to see the second instalment of the Divergent trilogy, Insurgent. I think this would appeal to the teen buyers as these types of movies/books have been very popular with that audience.

Overall, I am very excited with the majority of the products that were included in this edition and I think it appropriately targets the younger audience. The Parcel (both original and Girlfriend) are quarterly boxes that cost an affordable $29.95 and $19.95, respectively with cheaper bundle options too. 2. I didn't realise that they had a Girlfriend version of the Parcel out! You received some great products here, very generous sizes! I love the Dermalogica nighttime treatment so I hope it works for you! I got the Rimmel BB cream as a freebie too and unfortunately it's too orange for me....though I haven't tried it on my face so who knows!

  3. This is the first Girlfriend Parcel review I've seen.. not too keen on the purple mascara. They had a lilac lipstick in last quarters box didn't they? I think I'll stick with the original Parcel for now. I loved the Divergent books, not overly keen on seeing Insurgent but Theo James is yummy :)

  4. I gave up on subscription boxes some time ago because I felt like I wasn't receiving things I liked or used, but I really like the look of this! Everything looks really useful and practical. Thanks a lot for sharing this box. :)

  7. I didn't know either until earlier this year and decided to buy one to see what it was like. I've used the daytime treatment once but hopefully I get to try these out more! I haven't tried the BB cream yet...

  8. I haven't tried the mascara yet.... since it's not w/p, I don't have high hopes for it. Maybe I'll give it a go tomorrow! Haha, I'll be seeing Insurgent when it comes out next week. I don't remember what happened in the book but I'm not expecting to be amazed by it haha

  9. I think the good thing about this box is that it comes out every few months so you get time to try out everything before the next lot of things arrive.

  11. Ooh I was wondering how the Girlfriend box would differ from the MC one but this box looks pretty good overall!

  12. It's like a little fun version of the MC one. Both are quite good value I reckon.
