David Jones Beauty Sampler Tote 2015
Hey lovelies!! Yesterday, I was doing some birthday and Christmas shopping. Trying to be better prepared, you know? Haha. I'm pretty sure I ended up spending more on myself... but let's not go into that! I was in David Jones and noticed that they had their Beauty Sampler Totes out on display. I didn't even know they were out!! Sneaky!!
You need to purchase a full prices beauty product including makeup, skincare, haircare, bath & body products and beauty accessories to qualify for the beauty tote which will then cost you $19.95. So you can buy pretty much anything in the beauty department and for not much to get this bag. Of course, I went the whole hog and bought some nice skincare for myself.
I went in for one thing and ended up with four! XD I really wanted to repurchase the Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus Moisturising Cream as I'm almost finished my current moisturiser. This gift box also contained a Moisturising Cream Mask, Moisturising Cleanser and Rosewater Balancing Mist from the Rose Moisture Plus range. One of these products ended up being free of charge so it was awesome value. Somehow my brain was like 'why spend $45 on one product when you can spend $135 for 4!!' How does that make sense?? =P At least I know I will thoroughly enjoy these products.
The David Jones Beauty Deluxe Sampler Tote contains a little clear bag full of goodies inside a larger black tote with sparkling detail. For less than $20, the tote is said to be valued over $139. Here's what you can get as there can be some variations between the bags. (Here is last year's sample bag if you're interested).
Ecoya Mini Celebration Candle 80g ($24.95)
I looooove candles!! This one smells of an amazing mix of citrus, florals, sandalwood, greens, vanilla, balsam and musk set in a cute wavy glass vessel.
David Jones Beauty Tinted Day Cream SPF 30 100g ($14.95)
Can't wait to try this especially for the summer.
David Jones Beauty Men's Protective Moisturiser SPF 30 120g ($14.95)
Not sure what to do with this one. I don't think hubby will use this... and I have found my go to sunscreen for face. I might have to use it on the body.
Molton Brown Gingerlily Body Wash 30ml ($39 for 300ml)
This is a cute little body wash sample. It has quite a spicy scent due to the ginger so it's leaning towards a more masculine clean scent. It's quite lovely. I will stash this for future travels.
Natio for Men Maximum Razor Relief Healing Lotion 125ml ($12.95)
A second item men. Hubby doesn't clean shave so I guess I'll try to find use for myself. Not quite happy with this inclusion.
Antipodes Apostle Skin Brightening Serum 10ml ($59 for $30ml)
Oh my goodness. I love this tiny dropper bottle! This is my second sample of this and loved the first one so I can't wait to continue using it.
Weleda Pomegranate Firming Serum 7ml ($45.95 for 30ml)
I haven't tried many products from this brand. This is targeted for mature skin to help with skin elasticity and fine lines. I always like to try different serums so I'll give this a go.
Dermalogica UltraCalming Cleanser 30ml ($17 for 50ml)
I love trying samples from this brand. It gives me spa nostalgia from my teenage years.
Napoleon Perdis Lip Gloss 0.7ml in Peach
I have so many Napoleon lip glosses now! I might give this to my niece as she is entering her teens and I don't need any more glosses!
There were some vouchers included in the bag as well - 30% off Weleda and 20% off Molton Brown when you spend $80+. These will expire in a couple of days so I probably won't be using them. There's a complimentary MicroZone treatment at a DJ Dermalogica Skin Bar and a complimentary Makeup Shakeup Lesson at Napoleon Perdis which I'm excited to use!
Overall, this beauty sampler bag is very good value for money. I'm not sure how the inclusion of skincare products for men have fared in their sales. Maybe it would have been better to make two different sample bags? I think these totes have been available for a couple of months but there wasn't much talk about them. Maybe there's some available at a David Jones near you?
What do you think of this year's David Jones beauty sampler bag?
