Affordable Beauty Products Worth The Hype
Hi lovelies! Thank you for all of the birthday love! We are about to celebrate hubby's birthday this weekend, it will be a busy one! I've got a couple of lifestyle posts coming your way with what I've been up to! Even though I would love to own a lot of high end priced cosmetic products, my pay packet doesn't really allow for too much spending in that area unless I save specifically for a certain product. I'm no 'drugstore' (interchangeable with pharmacy/supermarket brands) snob as I love many of products that are affordable and relatively easy to come by. Here are a few products from my stash that I've been loving lately (and for a while) and don't break the bank!
I've read so many blog posts about MF Facefinity Primer and how great it is for so long! Max Factor is on the pricier side of pharmacy brands so I only bought this when it was on sale a month or two ago. This primer has a lotion consistency and leaves a very slightly tacky feeling on the skin yet also kind of soft as well. It doesn't provide a blurring or smoothing effect as it isn't silicone based. I do believe it helps with the lasting power of my foundations except a couple of my foundations didn't work well with it. The pump provides the perfect amount of product to use over the face and the SPF 20 is just a bonus!
RIMMEL Match Perfection & Lasting Finish Foundations (rrp $18.95)
I've been a fan of many Rimmel foundations over the years so I wasn't surprised that I currently have two on the go. I love the 'non-foundation' and non-matte finish that Match Perfection gave but it wasn't very good at keeping me from looking oily at the end of the day. Lasting Finish blends beautifully with medium coverage and developed well throughout the day, giving my skin a natural 'shine'. However, in the coolers, my skin didn't really like it as much as during the warmer months for some reason. So, I mix the two together and I get a gorgeous finish and longevity. And who doesn't appreciate a pump on the bottle?!!
MAYBELLINE Fit Me! Concealer (rrp $14.95)
I actually did not like this when it first came out. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the formula but more so the packaging. The little nozzle at the top of the tube didn't scrap enough product off the wand so after constant use, it got really messy! I decided to give this one another go as I wasn't too happy with my previous higher end concealer (for another post) and once again, I've read and watched so many reviews on it. I use it to slightly brighten under my eyes. The formula is super creamy and has good pigmentation yet blends with ease. It doesn't crease on me but I do lightly set it with loose powder. I also try to be very careful when replacing the wand so I don't get excess product everywhere.
AUSTRALIS Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder (rrp $12.95)
I have been so loyal to my Rimmel Stay Matte powder that I felt bad buying a new powder! I got my hands on the much hyped about Fresh & Flawless (after watching many videos from Jasmine Hand) during Priceline's 40% off cosmetics sale and I cannot believe I didn't try it sooner! The powder is soft and fine in texture and I only need a light dusting of it to set my foundation. It also adds a bit of extra coverage making the skin look powdery. It does help with some oil control but my nose and chin area do get more shiny compared to the rest of my face.
MAYBELLINE HyperSharp Wing Liquid Liner (rrp $17.95)
I thought nothing would surpass my love for Maybelline Master Precise Liner until I tried HyperSharp and my world of liner changed! My favourite part is the very pointed brush tip that is thinner on one edge and slightly thicker on the other edge. The very tip is so fine that creating a wing is super easy! The formula isn't the blackest but still not bad and it dries to a matter finish. The product comes out of the tip very easy without dragging and sets after a few seconds. It isn't waterproof though but I haven't found it to be a major issue (unless I'm sweating a lot).
RIMMEL Nail Polishes (rrp $2.98 - $5.95)
I just realised that these are probably not 'hyped' products but I believe they should be. For the price, I love and have so many Rimmel polishes. There is a large variety of colours and finishes available and the bottles are a cute small size. The Pro Salon range has an awesome round brush which makes application a breeze and the 60 Seconds range gives a lovely finish and dries pretty fast. I love these for when I do nail art as the bottles take up not a lot of space.
I hope you enjoyed some of my favourite affordable products in this post. I would like to know what are some of your favourite affordable products so I can check them out!
