NotD | Be My Valentine

After comments from the ladies at school that I'm "going naked" with my nails, I knew I had to bring back some excitement. It had been a couple of weeks of al naturale nails mainly due to my laziness and change of environment. But now with Valentine's Day around the corner, I knew it was time for a change! I hope you like!

Once again, my inspiration was from Youtube and Pinterest. One of my favourite nail art YouTubers, elleandish, made a lovely tutorial for the upcoming event and I found this photo in Pinterest which I really liked.

What I used: OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener, OPI minis in Charged Up Cherry and Red Lights Ahead, Sally Hansen White On, Manicare Paint It Black, Sally Hansen Insta-Dry, small dotting tool and thin paintbrush.

After prepping my nails (and leaving my left ring fingernail extra long, sorry), I used White On and the OPI red as the base colour. On my middle fingernails, I used the nail polish brushes from the red and pink to draw big heart balloons and then using the fine brush with Paint It Black to add the string detail. The hearts on my ring fingernails proved more difficult to create but used a dotting tool in red polish to make them and then traced around them with the black polish. Then finish with the top coat!
