The Honeymoon Series | England
Today, I shared with hubby our two year wedding anniversary. Wow! I cannot believe that two years ago we tied the knot in some far away island off the coast of north Scotland. I hope to visit and explore the Orkney Islands in the near future!! To celebrate this occasion, here is the next (and very late) instalment of our honeymoon series - England!
After driving through Edinburgh, we drove down the east side of the UK. We crossed the border at Berwick-upon-Tweed and ended up in the lovely town of Cambridge where Daniel had been staying and studying for 6 months. I can't remember what church this one was but I remember the town being so picturesque. I have no idea why I didn't take more pictures though. Here are some random cats outside or near Prof. Stephen Hawking's residence. We only stayed in Cambridge overnight and had to leave early the next day as we were on a very tight schedule.
Stonehenge. What an amazing set of standing stones! From the road, they look quite small and insignificant but once you get up close, they are very grand. They are believed to be around 5000 years old built in the Neolithic age. Very impressive!
We left Stonehenge to head to London. I remember getting stuck in traffic and freaking out that we weren't going to make it to the loan car drop off place at the airport in time. My friend Emma (who attended the wedding) was working at London Wonderground, got us special seats to a show called Limbo. We were cutting it very fine with time, as we had to catch a train from the airport to our hotel in Earls Court, then back on the train into London. Limbo was such an amazing show filled with theatre, acrobatics and dance performed to a live band. We spent one night in London before setting off on our Top Deck tour around Europe!
[EDIT] I found these photos on my hard drive which weren't on my computer. We also went into the M&M store which was really cool. And Daniel saved up for some hot to get tickets to The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre. I highly recommend to see this show when it comes to Australia in the near future. So funny!
Have you visited England? What were your favourite places?
What will we do for our anniversary? We're hoping to head into the city (Sydney) and maybe visit the northern suburbs. It's very windy today so hopefully it all goes to plan! Happy anniversary to my darling husband!
