EotD | Australis Guns & Rose Petals
Who doesn't love a bit of sparkle? I love adding sparkle and shimmer to my makeup looks particularly on my eyes. I bought the Australis Metallix Eyeshadow in Guns and Rose Petals a little while ago after seeing the range pop up on blogs. Keep reading to see my thoughts on it.
The Metallix Eyeshadow, as the name suggests, has a highly metallic, foiled finished. The consistency is like a moussey cream housed in a little pot. It can be worn as a sheer wash of sheen with a little sparkle or layered using a finger or flat eyeshadow brush for an intense look (see swatches above). The formula is easy to work with however I find a brush works best for my eye shape. There is a little time before the eyeshadow sets to blend it out on the eyes. In saying that, I found that even when I used an eyeshadow base, the eyeshadow creased throughout the day. I will mostly blame that on my monolids! Using a light dusting of translucent powder over the top seems to stop this from happening so that's good! I like to pair this metallic eyeshadow with a matte colour in the crease for a nice contrast.
