Loving Lately | Winter Edition
So I had another post I wanted to do today but somehow I managed to delete the photos that went with it.... so that'll be for another time! XD Silly me! I don't normally do 'favourites' post but I had some recent purchases and rediscovered items that I have been enjoying lately so I thought I will share them with you!
ghd Style Heat Protect Spray
Amy over at Bottled Beauty was having a blog sale last month and I made my first ever blog sale purchase! This hair heat protectant is the first product I've tried from GHD (I'm using the straightener) and I prefer it over the Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray that I was using before this one. It sprays a fine mist and it dries quickly on dry hair. The spray mechanism broke in the Heat Tamer Spray within the first few uses and I had to transfer to another bottle (probably a faulty product). The liquid itself left my hair a little sticky so I'm happy this one from GHD is much better!
Sukin Protein Shampoo
You are probably sick of me mentioning my love of Sukin products. I bought this shampoo at the start of the year when I didn't want to repurchase my much loved Keune products due to the price, but after one use of this and the conditioner, I did not like it all! So why is it in my favourites??? A couple of weeks ago, I trialled it on my brightly coloured hair and was pleasantly surprised when no colour come off my hair (I think it's due to the sulfate free or something like that)!!!! So I've been using it ever since. It's a weird shampoo to get use to, I don't know how to describe it but I still don't really like the texture when I'm using it. If it keeps me away from the hairdressers longer between touchups then I'm happy!
id Hair Niophlex No. 3 Maintainer
A lifesaver for my bleached, colour-treated hair! It keeps my hair nourished and soft while limiting the amount of damage being done to it. There are also other products in the range that are used in the salon during the treatment. If you are thinking of bleaching you hair, ask your hairdresser about Niophlex (or similar) as it will change your hair's life!
Shiseido Eyelash Curler
My eyes needed a suitable eyelash curler for some time! When I use "Western brand" eyelash curlers, sometimes they pinch my eyelids, don't fit my eye shape and miss section of lashes [asianeyeproblems]. The eyelash curler from Shiseido fits better to my lids but I find it a bit gentle on the curling action. It is easy to use and no pinching! I wish it wasn't $26!
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Fresco
I bought this foundation last year and used it on and off since but this season, I decided to get some more use out of it. I use it with a Beauty Blender and it gives a high-medium coverage but if I layer on too much, it will get cakey. I learnt that the hard way! It stays on great throughout that day and I get only a little shine in my T-zone. I love using it with an illuminating primer (mentioned below) to give it a bit more life.
Real Techniques Blush Brush
A rediscovered favourite! I love using this with Benefit Hoola Bronzer. It's fluffiness creates a soft contour as I'm still a bit of a newbie at contouring. I was using Sigma's F05 Small Contour brush but it didn't work me using Hoola Bronzer. It is also great for blush!!!!
Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face Superscreen SPF50+
So happy that I bought this! I'm not really a good sunscreen wearer but this makes it so much easier! The formulation is like a face moisturiser so it sinks in quickly and leaves the skin feeling not greasy! The other sunscreen I was using was La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Melt In Cream but it's so hard to work into the skin and it's a little sticky feeling too.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned
My second Nars purchase a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy with it! This lip pencil is a gorgeous purpley wine shade and the matte formula is so comfortable. I don't like sharpening it though.
Essie Good to Go Top Coat
This is a repurchase as my last one went gloopy and had a tinge of pink. I bought the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri to replace the Essie one (I use to love this top coat). It makes the nail polish dry quickly but I noticed it made the polish crack after a day or so. So I went back to Good To Go! It gives a glossy finish, dries quickly and doesn't crack the nail polish underneath. It also has a wide brush which makes application much easier.
Mecca Cosmetica Lit From Within Illuminating Primer
I have a review on this primer so I won't get into details about it. I love the subtle glow this gives to my skin. I like the lotion type formulation and that it comes with a pump. My lid got a crack in it and now it won't close properly =(
