NotD | Winter Warmers
Good morning everybody!
I'm writing this as Daniel and the boys are making their way to Melbourne to watch the footy, leaving me with my boys (Zeus and Moose). I'm not complaining haha. I have a few blogs posts lined up that I'm really excited about. Just picked up two parcels from the post office and I have pick up another today =D Cannot wait to show you all!
My nails are currently sporting a shorter look (normally they're pretty long). I think it's cleaner and makes my fingers look petite??! Even though I bought new nail polish, I decided to go into my stash and look for a winter-relevant combination.
I decided to go with Rimmel LycriaPro in Hypnotise for the base and a single coat of Maxfactor Max Effect in Fantasy Fire.
I only own ONE of Rimmel's LycraPro nail polishes (surprised??? probably not if you don't know me but I'm one of those people who have waaaay too many nail polishes). I really like this nail polish. The formula is nice and the brush is big enough that the nail is covered in two strokes. It claims to have up to 10 days of wear. Most of the time I change my nail colour by the end of the week so I don't know how true that claim is.
I picked up Maxfactor's Fantasy Fire before I knew about online blogging and the popularity of it (that's cool). Working at Priceline one day, I noticed this polish on a new stand and was immediately mesmerised by it. The purple multi-chrome mixture was amazing. When I used it on it own, I was a little disappointed. It took 4-5 coats to get a nice colour on the nails that kind of represents what was in the bottle. I don't like thickly covered nails. Here's a blog post by Dawn and better photos.
I like the final look of the two polishes together. Fantasy Fire gives a light layer of tiny gold shimmer bits to the plummy/burgundy base.
What are you currently wearing on your nails?
