Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers
Of course when I decide to go on a spending ban for a whole month, all the stores have great sales. I guess choosing the end of financial year period was a bit silly but oh well. Don't worry, I haven't broken my ban yet!
This post is about the much hyped about Apocalips Lip Lacquers by Rimmel London. I first heard about them from the YouTube channel Fleurdeforce many months ago. I was soooo keen to try them because they sounded so good!! Of course you can find complete swatches and reviews on the web.
Rimmel describes this product as a combination of a lipstick and lipgloss.

I picked up three colours from asos.com for about $7 something a couple of months ago. When I tried them on my lips, they felt very comfortable and smooth. I was a little surprised and disappointed on how some of the colours turned out on my lips however they applied nicely and opaque. Well, that's the gamble when buying online. The colours I decided to get were 301 galaxy, 501 stellar and 600 nude eclipse. The staying power of these lip lacquers is about average wear (~3hours), of course shorter after eating and drinking. I found that some of the colour did transfer to my chin when I ate a big meal like a burger or sometimes on my teeth (arg!). Here are some photos of how the colours looked on me (sorry for the quality again).
301 Galaxy - Purple-pink shade. I had to sheer it out as it was a bit too bold for my liking of this colour. I believe this shade is not available in Australia (I couldn't see it on the Priceline website).
600 Nude Eclipse - A nude shade. A bit too close to my skin tone if I apply a good layer of it. A light application is nice. It leaves a nie stain afterwards.
Priceline is currently having a 1/2 price sale on Rimmel products! You can get these babies for $7.97 (eight shades to chose from)! What a bargain! Go get some now (here)!!!!!!

501 Stellar - I love this colour!!!! A bright cool red. This also leaves a nice stain on the lips when the shine wears off.
