FotD | Racing Blues
I experienced my first Melbourne Cup lunch at work today (I'm from Sydney btw). And boy was it grand!! I ate waaaaaayyyyyy too much!
I'm not much of a horse racing type of gal and have no idea about betting but I do enjoy dressing up. I think I matched a bit too much. Too much blue? I think not! Here's my Melbourne Cup look =) Beware! It'll be a long post!
Makeup
Face: I primed my face with theBalm Time Palm ready for Revlon Colorstay foundation oily/combo (natural beige) applied with a damp sponge. I tried the NP Set Concealer Set to neutralise the darkness under my eyes using the more pinky shade and then to brighten the skin, I used Maybelline Dream Lumi concealer in nude. Everything was set with a dusting of Rimmel Stay Matte powder in translucent.
I did some contouring around the face using the matte brown shade from the Crush Cosmetics 6 Piece palette and used the lighter pink blush on my cheeks.
Eyes: I used Milani eyeshadow primer before swiping the lid with Max Factor Wild Shadow Pencil in Ferocious White. Then I patted on the deep blue shade from Maybelline Eyestudio in Sapphire Siren on top of the white. On the outer corner and slightly in the crease I used Wet n' Wild Trio Knock On Wood in the brown (crease) and blended the edges out. Just above the brown I lightly added Makeout Mary (green) from theBalm Shady Lady vol 2 palette. I also placed the blue and brown shades on my lower lashline.
I lined the upper lashline with Face of Australia liquid liner in black then curled my lashes and applied a coat of The Falsies waterproof black by Maybelline (not pictured). On my waterline, I used Rimmel ScandalEyes in Nude to brighten the eyes.

Lips: I kept the lips a simple pink with Miss Brooklyn Rose by Shanghai Suzy.

I loved Zeus' cameo! I wonder what he was thinking...
