Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Hello everyone!! Lately, I haven't been feeling in the mood to write a blog post for some reason. But I will get my butt into gear and smash out one for you tonight! I've been testing a few foundations for the past few weeks and today I will share with you my thoughts on the Match Perfection Foundation by Rimmel.

I wanted something that wasn't as much in the coverage and thickness side as the Revlon ColorStay for the warmer seasons and something more than just a BB cream. I got a sample of Match Perfection to try from my lovely friend who works at Priceline and enjoyed it so much that I went and bought the full sized one to test fully.

Match Perfection is described as a light perfecting radiance foundation. It claims to provide a traceless coverage with Advanced Smart-Tone technology for perfectly flawless skin under any light which is enhanced with Sapphire Radiance for an illuminating glow which lasts all day. Some new terms which I have no idea about and basically I didn't even know it was meant to do that until reading the bottle just now. It also has a SPF 18 for some sun protection.

The product comes in a nice tall glass bottle. It feels really sturdy. Removing the plastic cap reveals a pump to dispense the product. Man I love pumps, it makes life easier (well in the early mornings applying makeup).

I am using the shade Light Nude 102 which I think is a tad light for my current skin but I can live with that. The product is a thin consistency but not a runny as, say, the Garnier BB cream for oily/combo skin. I use a pump and a bit for my whole face and I like to apply it with a slightly damp kabuki brush or my fingers. I find that it blends into the skin really well and I can build on the layers without it looking or feeling thick. The coverage of the Match Perfection is light-medium. It evens out the skin colour but doesn't fully cover the darkness under the eyes or any red areas. Go concealer! I'm not entirely convinced about the 'light perfecting radiance' or the 'Sapphire Radiance' claims but it does give skin a slight glow.

I am impressed on the wear of the foundation during the day. If you didn't know, I have oily skin particularly in the T-zone (does the chin count too?) which brings the glorious look of centre shininess by lunchtime. I'm generally too busy to blot or powder at work so I take the shine home. I have worn this during the cooler days and also the hot ones and surprisingly, I found that my nose and chin slightly got oily and that none of the product has patched off or faded. Normally, my forehead and the tops of my cheeks get shiny too. I do use a primer and powder in my makeup routine so that might help it's performance.

Overall, I like this foundation and will continue using it in my foundation rotation. Sometimes I like to mix in a little Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation for an extra glow! Rimmel Match Perfection foundation is available in 12 shades from Priceline (here for $17.95) and anywhere Rimmel is sold. Priceline is currently having a 3 for 2 offer on all Rimmel products!

Have you tried the Match Perfection foundation or any other Rimmel foundations? What face products do you like for the spring/summer months?

xxx Kat
