NotD | I Want Candy (Canes)

Hi everyone! Just woke up from about 20 minutes of Moose meowing and scratching at the door wanting me to feed him. Oh the joys of having cats. I'm also having a crazy morning with allergies. I just had a Zyrtec so hopefully I'll stop sneezing soon. This is possibly the first time I've finished one hand when doing nail art. For some reason this design took forever and my back and shoulders were knotting up like no other. I decided to sleep on it and finish my right hand this morning. I hope you like my sweet look!

This design was inspire by this photo on Pinterest. What a great site this is! I have no idea how to use it properly so I just browse the pictures. I didn't pay close attention to the striping detail so mine looks a little different and not too candy cane-like.

Rimmel Double Decker Red | OPI I'm All Ears | Sally Hansen White On | Sally Hansen Plume | FoA Ferris Wheel | Rimmel Sunny Days

Once again I used the best red ever, Rimmel Double Decker Red and OPI I'm All Ears mini from the Vintage Mini Mouse 2013 Collection. The OPI polish is a sheer pinky red with tiny shimmers in it. I originally used this as the base until I realised I needed a base colour to make it stand out. Over the reds, I taped up the nails and painted White On by Sally Hansen on alternate stripes.

On the ring finger, I did another Christmas tree. I used Sally Hansen Lustre Shine in Plume. This is a green-gold/blue duochrome but comes off mostly as a tarnished gold on the nails. Similar to the previous Xmas nails, I stencilled the tree will regular sticky tape and horizontal striping tape. Ferris Wheel by Face of Australia Carnivale was used for the tree for a cool glittery effect. The star was dotted with Rimmel Sunny Days.

Now time to hang out the washing and do the other hand!

Daily Katness

  • I did most of mine and Daniel's Secret Santa shopping yesterday. I feel very accomplished! Time to wrap the presents!
  • On Thursday night, a few ladies from work and myself went into the city for dinner at the Orient Hotel and looked at the Christmas lights in Martin Place. Very windy but we had a ball!
  • Today we are visiting Daniel's parents for lunch and to see how his mum is doing (recovering from surgery).
  • Today is a beautiful blue sky kind of day!
  • When we get home, I'm making 80+ goodie bags for presentation day at my (not actually mine) dance school which is next Saturday!
  • I also need to make a flag today....
  • Tomorrow, I'm starting back at the chemist. I haven't worked there since July so I'm very rusty! I'm very excited though, I love helping people with their health needs.
  • Straight after work, I'm going to watch one of my friends perform in an aerial show. She's on the lyra which is like a hoola hoop suspended in the air. Crazy stuff!

  1. Oh Kat you nailed this look! I love how you took the photos with the candy cane - it just emphasised how well you did those red and white stripes. Well done!
