Destination Bin | Empties Summer 2014

Hello lovelies! I hope you are all having a nice day. It's been pretty warm around parts of Aus but luckily for me, I'm sitting in a nice cool breeze. Zeus just rolled over the Foxtel (pay-TV) remote and landed on the radio channel. It's actually really nice! Anyways, I was reserving this post for a bit later on but we're in the process of moving out and I don't want to take these with me. I've got heeeeeaaaappps of things I'm binning so let's get on with it!

Body

St Ives Softening Moisturiser in Vanilla: Oh I loved this moisturiser and it lasted soooo long! The vanilla scent is not overpowering and the product leaves the skin very soft.

Lush Ro's Argon Body Conditioner sample: I've wanted to try this for the longest time but I wasn't prepared to shell out $30 odd for it in case I didn't like it. Luckily, I loved this stuff! Used a bit in the shower and wash off, it leaves a lovely scent on the skin and leaving it smooth and soft! I will get the full size of this when I use up more Lush things!

Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion Skin Conditioner for normal to dry skin: A similar product to the Lush one above but I didn't really like it. I felt that the product was used up quickly and I didn't notice a difference in my skin. I was also annoyed that I had to wash myself with a separate product before using this. I know I've used other products that wash and moisturise. Sorry hyped up product, you weren't for me.

Bathox Bath Foam & Shower Gel for Dry Skin in Milk & Honey: A cheapie from Chemist Warehouse. It was nice as a shower gel but didn't see anything in the moisturising department.

Kit Body Wash & Bubble Bath in Melons A Go-Go: Such a cute name. It smells really fruity! It has little gold shimmers in it but it isn't noticeable on the skin. A fun buy when I went to Melbourne a couple of years ago.

Hair

Batiste Dry Shampoo mini in Fresh: I really enjoyed this! Loved the scent and it worked well. I might go back to the tinted one though just so I'm not paranoid about the white cast in my dark hair if I don't rub it in well enough.

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque: A travel size product from a little gift set. I love this stuff! It has a thick consistency and smells awesome! I will get the full size of this when I can!

Organic Care Shampoo & Conditioner in Colour Shield: I did a review of these two products. A cheapie but a goodie. They worked really well on my hair.

Face

The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash: This was recommended by Sarah for those with oily skin and I went out to buy it as soon as a could! This was really gentle on my face but I felt it really got into my skin to clean it. I already bought another tube of this!

Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser for Face & Eyes sample: This was really light and gentle on my skin. I felt like I was using a luxury product (due to the price of the full size one haha). I used this as my second cleanse after taking my makeup off with a cleansing oil so I don't know if it stacks up to its claims. I wouldn't buy it for myself but it would be nice as a gift.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash: This contains 2% salicylic acid which was good keeping any bumps at bay. However, when I had a third of the product left, it started to leave my skin really tight and dry. So I was glad that I finished this up quickly!

Swisspers 5 Cucumber Facial Cleansing Wipes: I must have opened these a while ago as when I reached for them the other week, they weren't very moist. I thought that they were bigger and softer than their 25 pack counterparts. Don't quote me on that one though. I'm sure they were much better when I opened them.

Olay Complete for sensitive skin: This was a great morning moisturiser for me. It was light and didn't cause any reactions with my skin. I bought this in June last year at Chemist Warehouse and it lasted me a good 6 months, using it every day. I bought the same one again but the one for oily/combination skin.

Colgate Optic White toothpaste: I didn't see any noticeable whitening after finishing the tub. I won't repurchase.

Hand

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream sample: I got this in the Neutrogena sample pack last year and it's taken me soooo long to finish it up! I already bought the full size one. This has a really thick, ointment-like consistency. I use this as a treatment for my hands and nails between nail polish applications.

Revlon Colorstay Base Coat: I really enjoyed using this but it turned bad towards the end of its life so I had to stop using it as it was causing lots of bubbles to form.

Lanocreme Hand & Nail Cream: Got this from my mum. It lived in my handbag for regular use during the day. It served me well.

Cosmetics

Maybelline The Falsies mascara in waterproof black: I was disappointed with this when I first used it but it somehow transformed into a great formula after a while and it was my HG go-to product for most of last year. I bought another version of this so hopefully it works just as well!

Almay Get Up & Grow mascara in waterproof black: I picked this up after hearing a great review from Emily. I first bought the regular formula by mistake and it did nothing for my lashes. The waterproof version was much better at creating thicker lashes. I didn't see anything in the lash growth area but I felt it was gentle on my lashes. The formula has now gone dry and I won't be repurchasing this.

Nivea Essential Care lip balm: This was a wonderful balm. It was colourless yet get the lips a moisturised look.

Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm in Pink Lolita: I did not like this version. At all. I didn't even finish this. It didn't feel moisturising. I didn't like the colour left on the lips. I'm loving the berry one at the moment though!

Lioele Skin Fix Powder Pact in Natural Beige (Oil Control type): After hearing Jen talk about this brand and product on her YouTube channel, I went to eBay to find it. I was very happy with the results but sometimes I could see the powder on my face. It had good oil control too. I love the packaging!!! *Moon Prism Power!* Anyone??

Rimmel Stay Matte foundation in Soft Beige: Don't mistake this one for the new gel-mousse type one. I found this in my collection a few weeks ago and thought to try it out again. It was terrible! It caked on my skin and didn't feel nice at all. So it had to go! The new version is much, much nicer!

Wow! Sorry about the long post! And the weird font??? I tried to make it as short and sweet as possible for you. I'm happy that I can throw these products out and make way for some newbies! ='_'=

What are your thoughts on these products?

xxx Kat

  4. I bought myself the Stay Matte for christmas. It was the shade I normally am and it was SOOOOOOO DARK on my skin, like, I had a tan. I hated it myself because of that reason. Learn to shade properly Rimmel!
