To Start Off... | The Scarborough Hotel

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a nice new year celebration. Mine consisted of staying up till 11.30, falling asleep and missing Sydney's fireworks on tv. Can't win them all. I would like to start off the new year with an outing post with my bestest friend, L. She suggested to go to The Scarborough Hotel for lunch and that was a great idea!

Scarborough is in the northern part of the Illawarra and about 20 minutes from where I live. And it's right on the coast. The Scarborough Hotel looks very historical with the ocean in the background. Everyone seemed to have the same idea as us but we were lucky enough to get a table on the balcony that was overlooking grassed eating area and the ocean. There was plenty of seating as well as an area for the cafe section inside the hotel. Local artwork are displayed inside along with beachy decor such as shells, sand, bottles etc.

The meals there were reasonably priced and there were gluten free options. I ordered the battered fish with spiced squid, chips and salad. And L had the golden fish and chips. I did almost drool at the food being served to the tables around us, the dishes all looked amazing especially the seafood platter for two!

The day was beautiful to be spent out of the house and on the coast. There was a nice breeze and the sun wasn't too strong. I would definitely go back here. The atmosphere is incredible! So relaxed and fun!
