What I Got Up To In January
I've been itching -having withdrawals- to get back into blogging! This won't be a long post (I hope) as I'm still pinching the in-laws' internet and I don't want to use it all up. I hope some of you have noticed that I've been MIA in the second half of this month. Here's a quick overview of what I've been up to...
We saw our agent to get our apartment up for rent as Daniel was going overseas later on. I worked a few days during the week at the chemist. I packed and packed and packed. I did a few car trips to my parents' place. And that way only for my junk! Daniel and I did had a couple of late nights packing and sorting things into boxes and bags, ready for the removal truck. One hot Saturday and with the help of Daniel's family, we were able to pack 98% of our stuff into the truck and my car. Pretty good effort I reckon. The cats were last to come with us to our temporary home. I let Zeus sit on my lap and he was so good. He would just lay there or peak out the window. It was so cute! I wouldn't do the same for Moose though, as he would have squirmed all over the place (and let's not talk about the cat hair!).

We had a nervous week of waiting to see if we could get a tenant for our place. More working at the chemist. The cats settled in very well in their new 'cattic'. They have a staircase which is new for them. I it'll do Moose some good with his weight. There's also lots of birds and wildlife they can watch through the kitchen window. They have a good life.
Found out we got an application for the apartment and we accepted! They will move in next week! Yay for income!
Wednesday night rolled around. The night I thought would never arrive but was dreading for a good portion of the last week. I helped Daniel pack. I couldn't believe he could fit almost all his clothes and other bits into a suitcase and backpack. I mean, my makeup, skincare and other things would have taken up most of mine. Jealous. We had to leave just after 3 in the morning to drop Daniel to the airport. I had about 2 hours 'sleep' on the couch and I think Daniel had less. Daniel's parents drove us to the airport. I hadn't seen that part of the day since I was my first year of uni (when I almost pulled an all nighter). I sat with Daniel for a little bit at the airport, just holding his arm. How much I didn't want him to leave. I didn't want to cry when we got to the Departures gate but when I saw his mum get teary, my eyes got going. After a good hug, off he went on his adventure. I won't see him for 6 months!
Daniel has gone to Cambridge University as part of his phD in proteostasis. He will be there for up to 6 months. Then I'll be visiting him when he finishes! There's also some exciting things happening then too! Hopefully he'll bump into Prince William, not that he cares. Everyone from both my works have been checking up on me which is lovely! Although I get a little teary when I think about him. I also came home to a lovely pot of flowers on my doorstep (you know who you are!). Thank you! You really brightened up my afternoon! Anyways, the countdown has begun!
