FotD | Hear the Wedding Bells

One of my lovely friends got married on the weekend. Daniel and I were lucky enough to attend their ceremony and the reception. I'll do a photo post later on this week about the actual day. The inspiration for my makeup look for the day was from a recent video by emilynoel83 (watch it here) using one of my favourite Maybelline eyeshadow quads. Keep reading to see how I created the look (don't be frightened about the amount of products I used haha).

Face Base

  • theBalm Time Balm face primer
  • Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation in Beige Ivory - applied with a damp sponge
  • Revlon Age Defying concealer in Light/Medium - on redness and lightly under the eyes
  • Maybelline Dream Lumi concealer in Nude - in triangle shape under the eyes
  • Palladio Rice Powder in Translucent - fluffy brush to set concealers
  • Lioele Skin Fix Powder in Natural Beige - big powder brush all over face
  • Crush Cosmetics 6 Piece Palette in the tan shade to contour and a mixture of the pinks for blush
  • Revlon ColorStay Mineral Finishing Powder in Sunkiss - swept over cheekbones, temples and nose bridge

Brow Enhance
  • Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in Deep Brown
  • Ulta Clear Mascara to hold the brows in place (product use to be clear)

Eye Colours

Rimmel Nude | Rimmel Purple | Rimmel Color Tattoo | Maybelline Quad White, Rose, Tan, Deep Brown
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in Barely Branded - all over lids (first time using this, I love the creamy consistency)
  • Maybelline Expert Wear Eye Shadow in Designer Chocolates - lightest white shimmery shade in the inner corner and inner third. Shimmery rosy purple on the rest of the lid. Deeper brown on the outer corner and crease and blend. Reapply shadows to build up intensity and blend again! Light brown shade on the brow bone. Using a pencil brush dipped in the purple shade, lightly apply to the area where the dark brown shade is blended out
  • Rimmel ScandalEyes in Nude - line the waterline
  • Rimmel ScandalEyes in Purple - apply at the outer corner lower lash line
  • Apply shadows to lower lash line, dark brown in the outer third, purple in the middle and white in the inner third.
  • Using a damp angle eyeliner brush dipped in Blackout from Urban Decay's Naked2 palette, line the upper lash line as well as in between the lashes
  • Curl the lashes and apply a coat of Maybelline The Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara (waterproof black) and Maybelline The Falsies Mascara (waterproof black)

Lips and Nails

  • Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipstick in 26
  • Maybelline Color Sensational lipgloss in Born With It (I think it's discontinued)
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish in Misty Jade

The Final Look
Colours on the eyes were more vivid in person - too much light in this photo

I was very impressed with the lasting power of the makeup. Luckily that was cool and overcast so no sweating or over-oiliness. I've been using the Time Balm as a primer for a couple of weeks and I do get a little oily after lunch but this time I wasn't as much and the foundation stayed true throughout the night. The Color Tattoo did well as a base for the eyeshadows, nothing budged. I packed on the eyeshadow as my glasses subdued the colour and my monolids hides it too, arg!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
