NotD | Pastel Marbles
Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a nice day. I've got a short nail post for you today. I decided to try out the ever so popular water marbling technique the other night for the first time. I watched one YouTube tutorial before I started my design. I hope you like it!
As a base coat I used one from Revlon ColorStay. I've had it for a few months now and it's getting very gloopy but it's still good. All the colours I used for this design were from Rimmel. I did a base colour for all my nails in Princess Pink. I did two thin coats of it and let it dry. I used sticky tape to 'prep' my nails which meant I covered all the skin around my nails with tape. This makes clean up much easier.
To make the water marble design, I filled a plastic cup almost to the top with water then I put drops of Bonzai, Apricot Punch and Lucky Lilac in the centre of the water surface. It made a bullseye on the top. I used an unfolded paperclip to draw lines through the polishes. Mine was really random as I didn't really know what I was doing. Once the swirly design was done, I dipped a nail into it and then took it out of the water. The design was printed on my nail. I used the paperclip to pull out the remaining polish from the water before starting again. For each nail, I alternated the polish placement. Once I finished, I took off the tape and cleaned up any stray polish and layered on a top coat by Sally Hansen.
Here is the final look!

Please excuse some really sad looking cuticles up there. So I didn't realise I could do multiple nails in one go, instead I did a new pattern for each nail which took a long time and became really messy. Some of the bottles got polish on the outside of them. Today, I watched some more tutorials on this technique and I think I have a better understanding of doing this. I'm keen to give it another go soon!
Have you tried this before?

Daniel and I went to AustiBeach Cafe for lunch today. I had fish and chips with a berry crush and Daniel had a steak sambo and a choccie milkshake. It's a beautiful cafe that is situated right across from Austinmer beach.
Time to take all the washing in
Just baked a caramel slice again!
I started trying out Face of Australia's mineral powder foundation, going good so far
