Natural Hair | Organic Care Shampoo & Conditioner Review
Very affordable hair care brands that you can get from major supermarkets and pharmacies tend to be a hit and miss for me. Pantene and TRESemme do nothing for my hair except leaving it too dry and itchy. Some cheaper brands I found just gave my hair a nice smell. In saying that, some brands have worked really well for me such as Clear and Herbal Essences. I couldn't believe my luck when I used Nature's Organics Organic Care Colour Shield Shampoo & Conditioner for the first time after an impulse on-sale purchase.
Nature's Organics is an Australian found company who create environmentally friendly and naturally sourced cleaning products including laundry, dishwashing, skincare and hair care. I didn't know that some of the household cleaning products I used come from this company, pretty cool. From their website, Nature's Organics is a 100% Australian made and own company aimed to use plant based ingredients, biodegradable surfactants and sustainable packaging. Plus!
Back of the shampoo bottle
I bought this line of shampoo and conditioner back in June and have been using it since then. I tend to wash my hair when it feels oily, about 3 days after washing, or when I need to get rid of hairspray or mousse. I use a small amount of the shampoo on the roots and it lathers nicely. It has a gorgeous floral scent that is not overpowering or too artificial. The conditioner has a similar scent and I only use it on my ends. I leave it on my hair for about 5 minutes before I rinse off, less if I'm using a treatment.
When it's all rinsed out, my hair feels soft and doesn't have any tangles. I do have thick, long hair and a lot of it, so it doesn't tangle easy anyway (which is good as I don't like brushing my hair). The bottom half of my half has been bleached and dyed and was screaming with broken ends (had a good trim!) so it felt really dry and strawy. After using these products, my hair is left soft and clean but not squeaky. My ends are easily separated and smooth. It also doesn't leave my hair itchy or with skin flakes on my scalp. The only down side I found with this line is that it didn't keep my home hair colour fresh. I saw coloured water every time I washed my hair. It was good at first as the colour was too dark but it faded quicker than I would have liked. It could be due to the colouring product despite it being a 'permanent' dye hmmm.
Shampoo and conditioner (ignore my shopping list =P)
This is the first natural/organic product I've used to cleanse my hair. On the package it says 'sources from plants, free from petrochemical cleansers, sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, mineral oil, parabens, propylene glycol or dye' which is good if you have a sensitive scalp. Overall, I've really enjoyed using these two affordable products.
You can get this line from Priceline, other pharmacies and supermarkets such as Woolworths.
Have you tried any of their products?
Maybe their amazing ad will change your mind =P
